When I started solving Rubik’s cube puzzle, I was 8. I was trying so hard to solve but somehow colours were challenging to me. I was determined to keep going. Finally, I started solving the 3X3 Rubik’s cube. I took 1 minute 46 seconds to solve it. I was also struggling with colours. My parents took me to an ophthalmologist, and I was diagnosed with red-green colour blindness. I finally got answers to all my confusions over the years. Even everyone was surprised that a red-green colour blind child could solve a Rubik’s cube! Mostly by that time, I had developed my own techniques to see colours. I kept practicing consistently.
Over the years, my practice and patience paid off. Today, my personal best time to solve a 3×3 Rubik’s Cube is 7.6 seconds. I participated in different competitions organised by the World Cube Association. I am at 11th rank nationally in the Cubing Returns competition (3×3) organised by the WCA in April 2022.
Solving the cube has taught me patience, focus, and the value of perseverance. It’s more than just a hobby—it’s a testament to finding solutions against limitations.
